Check it out, no images! This similar looking display to that of the iPhone calendar uses gradients courtesy of WebKit’s -webkit-gradient css and some jQuery calculating. Were this a live web app, the script used would probably need to know the month, day, number of weeks, etc. through some sort of clever algorithm; good thing it's a demo.

Also, no tables either. A definition list is used for the days of the month and events of that day. This example fails when the user zooms out however. Removing the single pixel margins and borders would resolve that.
